Gift ideas for homeless teenagers
Ask a kid today what they'd like and your apt to get a ton of responses. Same thing goes for any kid experiencing homelessness. To them the food sucks, the clothes suck, and there's almost no way to escape what they're going through that's legal.
Except music.
If you're in a position of charitable giving, there's one thing that almost any teenager that's homeless would REALLY enjoy. They can keep it on them at all times. The upkeep's low and they'll remember you for it for years...MP3 players!
Music is the one thing every adult can relate to and admit it's something every kid should have. Give a kid one and he'll smile just at the thought of you.

Hi, came across you blog throught the 23blogs.com link exchange on my own blog.
The dea of giving a teenage homeless person an MP3 player sounds like a very good deed, however, where I live in the UK the homeless teenagers would befar more likely to sell it and use the money gained for other purposes.
I know this sounds biased or prejudiced, but I am no biggot.
Not all homeless people are the same, and each should be assessed individually, but not all, in Cornwall at least, are honest enough to receive a gift such as this and to apreciate it.

Diesel,
No, you don't sound like a bigot. A portion of kids experiencing homelessness in any area are apt to consider pawning or trading it for something else.
Most of the kids I've come; and still regularly; in contact with are less in the 'street survival' mode, but then again most I know are with one parent at least.
Good valid point of view!
Music does certainly soothe the soul, even in the worst of times-
Hey Rev, can ya play a Ukulele? We could put MP3s of it on the site! :)
Thanks for the gift idea. Your site is an inspiration. This first-hand look is so needed!
Thanks, Stacey, and welcome to blogging! I liked the few articles you've done so far...keep at it!
These ideas are great, but it probably makese sense to split with friends since it
may be costly. I especially love the vacation idea!
