We lived in a shelter for two years. We experience living with mental disorders. I now advocate as a peer and spokesman for other families, both housed and not. We got through it. You could too if you had to.

About Me

John C: Father of four great kids, seperated and divorced now, and a tendency of telling people they're wrong when they stereotype parents experiencing homelessness as crack addicts, drunks, and whores. We're now six years past experiencing homelessness. I'm now a writer and received credentialling as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist-Adult through the Florida Certification Board in 2009, based primarily on my advocacy as a blogger. My long term goals are to see my children enter college. My oldest son is a National Honor Rolls Member, of which he became that while our family was homeless.
